Saturday 19 February fine ( Edinburgh ) / snowing ( Munich ), 4 / -2°C

·        Up @ 9:00, packed bags etc, taxi @ 10:00 to airport

·        Checked in etc, possible delay on flight due to snow in Frankfurt , but didn’t happen

·        Onto plane @ 12:15, left @ 12:45, bumpy flight, landed in light snow @ Frankfurt @3:30 (euro time)

·        Through customs etc, walked through airport, had coffee, walked to far end of terminal to wait for next flight

·        Boarded @ 5:30, took off @ 5:45, landed in Munich @ 6:30, picked up bags (AC’s mutilated), through to S-bahn

·        Caught 7:37 train to Marienplatz then u-bahn to Dietlindenstrasse (€16 for both on trains)

·        Walked to hotel (Hotel Achat) on the corner of Potdamerstrasse and Leopoldstrasse

·        Checked in got room on 4^th floor

·        Downstairs for tea in bar (steak and spag bol + drinks + coffees, €21)

·        Out for a walk @ 10:00 around the streets, back to hotel @ 11:00

Sunday 20 February light snow / cloudy , 1°C

·        Up @ 9:00, downstairs for breakfast

·        Out @ 10:00, walked to u-bahn, bought 3 day ticket for 2 people, €18

·        U-bahn to Marienplatz, walked around in the snow, walked to Residenz then to Hofgarten then back to Marienplatz, went to Frauenkirche

·        Walked out to Karlstor then south, had coffee & cake in café (€15)

·        Walked around to Sendlingertor then back to Marienplatz

·        U-bahn out to Gern

·        Walked to Schlosskanal and walked towards Schloss Nyphenburg

·        Stopped @ Notburgstrasse and had lunch @ 2:00 @ café on Romanplatz (kartoffelsuppe and Hawaiitoast)

·        Walked to Schloss Nyphenberg and looked around then back to Notburgstrasse

·        Caught bus (trams blocked by derailment) to Olypiazentrum

·        Walked to Olympic complex and went up Olympiaturm (€4 ea, 200m) took photos

·        Walked back to u-bahn then to Bonnerplatz and walked back to hotel @ 5:30

·        Relaxed

·        Out for tea to restaurant across the road @ 7:00 (€42) then walked around the block, back to hotel @ 9:30

Monday 21 February light snow, -1°C

·        Up @ 8:00, had breakfast etc

·        Left @ 9:30, walked to Dietlindenstrasse, u-bahn to Marienplatz

·        Walked around shops, AC bought new suitcase to replace mangled one (€24.95)

·        Had coffee then walked through to Odeonplatz and caught u-bahn, back to hotel

·        Out again @ 11:30

·        U-bahn to Odeonsplatz then changed to Huptbahnhof

·        Had lunch (wurst and donuts) then caught tram 21 out to Westfriedhof

·        Walked for 5 minutes to Dantebad

·        Went for a swim (€4.50ea) in the snow, -1°C, and 35°C water temp

·        Out @ 2:30

·        Caught u-bahn to Olympiaeinskaufzentrum, went into shopping mall

·        Had milkshakes then wandered around

·        Out to Saturn electrical store, AC bought 5 films for €8.99

·        U-bahn back to hauptbahnhof and caught tram 17 to Tivolistrasse

·        Walked through Englischergarten to Siegestor and then had coffee @ café nearby

·        Walked back to hotel on Leopoldstrasse, arr 5:30

·        Out @ 7:00, u-bahn to Giselastrasse, had tea @ Block House steak restaurant (1 steak and 1 NZ lamb!, €40)

·        Walked back to hotel via backstreets, arr 9:00

Tuesday 22 February snowing / cloudy , 1°C

·        Up @ 8:00, down for breakfast

·        Back up and packed bags, checked out @ 10:00

·        Walked to u-bahn, bought all zone ticket (€16) and caught train to Marienplatz

·        Got s-bahn to Flughafen @ 10:25, arr 11:00

·        Had a coffee then went to check in, flight cancelled

·        Joined queue for new tickets / rebooking, after 1 hour got to counter (lots of delays / cancellations due to snow)

·        Got  rebooked on flight that was delayed from 10:40, now supposed to leave @ 1:40

·        Got baggage through then through security etc

·        Waited @ gate then boarded plane @ 1:50, plane left @ 2:40, ok flight landed in Frankfurt @ 3:30

·        Walked to gate and boarded Edinburgh flight @ 4:10, out on bus to plane, left @ 5:00

·        Good flight, arrived @ 5:40 uk time

·        Taxi home
