Sunday 6 May partly fine, cool wind, 14°C · Up @ 9:00am, picked up by Kylie and John @10:30 from hotel, drove to their flat @ 7/37 Tanner Street Photo: "Kylie & John's flat, Bermondsey (the one with the washing on the balcony)" · Out with them to Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road @ 12:30 for shopping · Bought an electric toothbrush (battery operated), £13 · Starbucks on Oxford Street for lunch, back to their flat (home) @ 3:30pm · Finished unpacking · Ostrich for tea (tastes like beef, red meat) Monday 7 May (Bank Holiday) fine / partly cloudy, 14°C · Up @ 9:00am · Walked to London Bridge Station · Tube to Tottenham Court Road for look around shops · Liz bought shoes (£29), film (£4 for 24 exp) and Pantene shampoo (£2) · Lunch @ mall in Oxford St · Walked to Bond St station, tube to Knightsbridge · Looked around Harrods, had a coffee in Harrods (£6 for 2 coffees, includes vouchers for the toilets which normally cost £1 ea!) · Went to Harvey Nichols · Walked along Constitution Ave, looked at Buckingham Palace, walked through St James’s Park, to St James’s Park tube station · Tube to London Bridge, walked home @ 4:45pm · Ostrich sausages for tea. Tuesday 8 May fine, 16°C · Up @ 8:00am · Into Covent Garden by tube for Liz’s first recruitment agency interview @ 10:00, with two others today @ 12:30 and 3:00 · Andrew changed bank cards from solo to switch, for better access to EFTpos type services · Lunch just off Regent Street · Out for tea at “Simon the Tanner” wine bar in Bermondsey Wednesday 9 May
cloudy/drizzle, 12°C · Up @ 8:00 am · Into Charing Cross by rail (overground train) · Liz had another agency interview in Bedford Street @ 10:00 · Andrew went to Easyeverything in Tottenham Court Rd, to surf the net, then to Liverpool Street Station for interview with EdenBrown Recruiting @ 11:00 · Andrew met Liz in Cheapside just before Liz’s 12:30 agency interview · Lunch near St Pauls · Tube to Chalk Farm stop for Andrew’s job interview @ Quaint Services, Prince of Wales Road · Andrew offered job (£12/hr for at least 1 month) starting tomorrow · Back home @ 5:30 · Spaghetti Bolognaise for tea Thursday 10 May Fine,
21°C · Up @ 7:00am · Tube to work, arrived 8:45 am (10 min walk to London Bridge Station, 20 minutes by tube to Kentish Town Station, 10 minute walk to 40 Prince of Wales Road) · Working on a residential conversion of an old School (which was built originally as a Governess’ Convalescent Home) · Left work @ 6:00pm, arr London Bridge 6:45pm, met Liz for coffee @ Starbucks, then tube to Clapham Common to meet Elizabeth Stroombergen and Howard (her boyfriend) for tea at local pub · Left @ 9:30pm, home @ 10:15 Friday 11 May Fine, 24°C · Up @ 7:45, caught tube to Chalk Farm due to crowded trains, arrived at work @ 9:30, no one there, Alan Corrigan (architect) arrived soon after · Left work @ 6:00, tube to Oxford Circus · Met Liz for tea (Indian £20 for the two of us!) · Tube to London Bridge, home @ 8:45pm Saturday 12 May
Fine, 24°C · Up @ 9:00am, McDonalds for breakfast, left camera at McDonalds! · Tube to Oxford Circus, walked to Regent Street to Vodafone to put phone in for repair (2 weeks) · Walked to Oxford St Vodafone to buy replacement phone whilst other phone is being repaired (£69) · Bus (No 8) to Bethnal Green High Street · Went to Hamiltons real estate / letting agent · Arranged to meet agent @ property in ½ hr · Walked to property in 25 Wilmot Street, agent didn’t turn up · Walked back to High Street, had lunch, then back to Hamiltons, agent said he “Couldn’t get the keys”, but didn’t bother ringing us · Walked back along High Street to Brick Lane, then tube from Aldgate East to London Bridge · Back home, watched FA Cup on telly, (Liverpool 2 Arsenal 1) then realised that I didn’t have the camera! · Walked to McDonalds, no sign of it, none handed in. Gone. · Walked to Borough High Street for look around, then back home. · Tea @ the Honest Cabbage round the corner, home @ 8:30pm Sunday 13 May fine /
cloudy, 24°C · Up @ 8:30am, supposed to see “Nick” in Wilmot Street, Bethnal Green, @ 10am, but he rang to delay until 4:30pm · Train to Charing Cross, got on an Original Bus Tour of London (£8) which is a hop-on/hop-off loop of London. We didn’t get off, anywhere but went past London Bridge, Tower Bridge, , Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Victoria Station etc. Photo: "Great fire of London Monument from double-decker bus" Photo: "Houses of Parliament, London Eye and River Thames" · Got off back at Trafalgar Sq @ 12:00 for lunch in Leicester Sq. · Tube to Baker Street to get on “Purple Loop” tour (free as part of the main bus tour we did this morning) from Baker Street, past Hyde Park, to Notting Hill and back to Baker Street. · Tube to Bethnal Green and walked to the Green itself (big open park) and sat in the shade · Saw flat @ 98 Wilmot Street (£170/wk), quite small 1 bedroom flat which needs redecorating etc. · Waited for train @ Bethnal Green Station for ½ hr then gave up and walked to tube station and tubed home · Out for tea to a pub near London Bridge @ 6:30pm, home @ 8:30pm Monday 14 May

/ heavy showers / fine, 15°C · Up @ 6:40am, tube to work, arr 7:45am · Saw letter from EdenBrown to Quaint saying that they were charging £17.50/hr for my services. I am only getting £12/hr! · Left work @ 5:30, tube home, arr 6:10pm · Out for tea at “Cantina” on the banks of the Thames, then walked to Tower Gateway DLR (Docklands Light Railway) station, caught DLR to Canary Wharf, then Jubilee Line home · Home @ 9:30pm · Liz’s uncle Jackie, her mums brother, died today of a suspected heart attack.
